October blog goals
You know it
wasn’t until I started blogging that I realised bloggers planned goals and
targets for their blogs every month and so I invite you guys as my audience to
see how I can improve my blog and skills.
Until
recently, I wasn’t aware that bloggers planned goals and targets for themselves
every month which I found really interesting and something I too could use to
improve my blogging status and writing skills! So, in today’s blog post for
#blogtober I invite you to see how I am going to try and improve my blog.
1)
I want to improve my writing skills
to encapsulate my audience and improve my blog’s aesthetic!
I intend to boost my skills by reading other blog posts on Pinterest and
Twitter and watching YouTube videos about writing techniques, I want to get
into the routine of proof reading and editing my work by using apps like
Hemmingway.
2)
Learn more about the features of
blogger (the website I’m using)
I want to experiment a little with the layout of my blog, learn more
about plugins and just mess around a wee bit, I also want to watch videos about
other blogging websites just to have a little comparison to my website blogger.
3)
Gain 100 followers on Twitter!
At first in my mind I wanted to get 25 followers on my twitter
(@ElectricallyE) for the entire month of October, which at the moment is over
60! You could technically say I’ve completed this goal but then again, I wasn’t
sure on how people would view my blog as of the moment it’s all been really
positive! To get 100 followers I’m gonna keep doing retweeting, regular updates
and participate in blog follow trains not only for followers but also because
there are such a wide variety of blogs you find through blog follow trains.
4)
Complete #Blogtober18
This another goal related to twitter and it’s been giving my twitter a
lot of traffic and I’m finding it a good challenge it’s definitely something
new to me and I just need to start up a schedule and make sure not to get
behind when my October holidays start!
5)
Better photos and better photo editing!
I’m too sure how to improve this apart from finding a decent editor,
looking at blog photos especially on Instagram so I can see their techniques
and edit them into my blogging process.
Thank you
for reading my blog post about my October goals! I hope you have a good day too 😆. I'd really appreciate comments and suggestions so I can improve, you can always talk to me on twitter to @ElectricallyE
Awesome goals! For better photos on the blog, I use un splash (free open source pictures) and edit them with canva (free website, lots of layouts). You can also edit insta photos with canva, but if you ever want to do sponsored content on insta you need to use original photos.
ReplyDeleteGetting Twitter followers can be pretty easy. My best advice is to engage with people! Comment and retweet with comments. Help others and they will help you. Follow similar accounts (and don't unfollow as soon as they follow back)
Keep up the great work and you will get there
Thank you! I'll definatley use some of these websites and thanks for letting my know about original sponsored post photos I never actually thought about that but it does a lot more sense. :D
DeleteUgh I just realized how misleading what I said sounded lol. What I meant was you shouldn't use unsplash for insta photos. You can edit your own photos with canva though. And that's only if you want to do sponsored posts in the future, partner companies want to know that the majority of your insta photos are yours. Hope that's more clear lol
DeleteThanks again! Doesn't sound that misleading so don't worry you've definitely helped me out!
DeleteI absolutely love hemmingway. I use it for every post I write. I also use chegg grammar checker. Out of all of the various ones I've tried, it gives the most easy to understand feedback. It gives up to ten suggestions free, after that if you want to pay for it (which I think is worth it) it's ten dollars a month. You can check it out here: https://www.citationmachine.net/grammar-and-plagiarism/
DeleteI love setting goals for my blog. It keeps me motivated. I've found the biggest goal is to try to write every day and keep a consistent posting schedule (for me that's twice a week). Writing more often than I post gives me time for social media, editing, searching for photos, and promotion. I like to use buffer to help me promote and post across multiple social media platforms. The blogging community is so spectacular. I've never found such a community of supportive, encouraging people!
Aw, I'm so glad to hear your experience it's nice to see you know websites that will be useful! I'm going to check out your suggestions over the month. Thanks!
